Mel’s Barbershop was founded in St. Augustine by Mel herself in 2017. Almost a year later, Mel and Jose met in 2018.

When celebrating their anniversary, Jose and Mel came to Sarasota to celebrate. While on vacation, they both fell in love with the area and decided to start a second location. 

Despite not knowing a soul in the Sarasota/Siesta Key area when they moved, they built the Mel's you know now with 100% blood, sweat, and tears. And it worked better than expected! They sold the St. Augustine location in 2023 to focus solely on the Sarasota location.

They strive for excellence with all clients. To Mel and Jose, clients aren't just clients - they're family! And they value everyone who walks through that door. Because if it wasn’t for their amazing clients, they wouldn’t have the business they cherish so much!

Mel's is looking forward to the years to come, and can’t wait to see what happens next!
