Mel's is great! Everyone is so nice. I had my haircut there for the first time two weeks ago and Joey cut my hair EXACTLY the way I wanted. He's a great barber and he's very personable! I found my new spot!

It’s always a tough call to get a fade when you’re on vacation. I found the perfect spot. Mel’s got me looking fresh and I’m glad I got in there. They take their time and have great attention to detail. The spot is also very clean and welcoming. I’ll be back next time I’m in Sarasota.

We're in town for a family wedding and my husband needed a haircut. Stopped into Mel's after a quick Google search and we're very happy we did! Walked right in, no wait. Fantastic service from all staff, the owner kindly introduced himself, calling us by name. This type of family-owned barber shop is precious and rare. Don't look further for a quality barber in Sarasota, this one is KING. 11/10 recommend.

I’m so glad i found Mel’s! Jose is the only one in SRQ that does a proper fade. This guy is incredibly talented, i call him the “hair whisperer”. My son won’t let anyone but Jose cut his hair. Great place and friendly folks!

Mel’s Old City Barbershop is the place to go!! Josh does a great cut, I wasn’t really sure what I was looking for but he pointed me in the right direction and the cut came out great!! Family atmosphere, clean and friendly. I’ve been down in Florida for a year and haven’t found a barber that I was comfortable with. Won’t go anywhere else!!

Best in the business! Used Jose as a feel in cut while my barber was on vacation, now the rest is history he’s now my barber for almost 2 years now. Set up appointments and just love the atmosphere. Josh their other barber there is awesome too! You’ll not be disappointed so stop in and get a cut!

Clean facility, chill environment. Got a cut & beard done by Josh. He gave me a great consultation before the cut. He takes his time, made sure he gave me a fine detailed blurry fade & sharp line up. Top notch customer service & cut. I will definitely be back. A+
Highly recommend! Josh did a great job on my hair and my son's hair. The team at Mel's also do a great job making you comfortable and make you feel like you've known them forever.
